Sustainable choices
Through our second focus area, Hotel Operations and Buildings with Purpose, we create the framework for how we will operate, renovate, and construct our hotels and hostels in a responsible and proper manner - with respect for climate, environment, and biodiversity.
In our own operations, we can lead by example through our actions and practices, and we can help pave the way for our partners in the value chain. We can make sustainable choices in our consumption of energy (electricity, heat, gas, oil, cooling, and fuel), water, and chemicals. For example, in relation to laundry and cleaning, and through sorting and treatment of waste.
In addition to hotel operations, another pillar of Arp-Hansen Hotel Group's business is our property portfolio. In the construction and total renovation process, we have a significant impact on the environment and climate, and therefore, we are proud that our construction projects in recent years have increasingly followed more climate-friendly regulations. You can read more about this in the section about Construction & Biodiversity in the strategy.
The ambitions and goals presented in the chapter on Hotel Operations and Buildings with Purpose will be further unfolded through several new initiatives (e.g. in food waste, biodiversity, plastic packaging, and futuristic showers) that we plan to launch during 2024 and 2025.
